Overview
An idea needed to be held in the hand before anyone committed to building it properly. The goal was the fastest honest test of whether the concept works at all.
Challenge
Unknowns everywhere and a short window. The prototype had to answer the riskiest questions cheaply, without over-investing in polish that might be thrown away.
Approach
Stripped the concept to its core mechanism, built it from off-the-shelf parts and quick-turn fabrication, and put it in front of real users fast. Iterated the design across several throwaway builds.
Outcome
A working proof-of-concept in weeks that validated the core idea — and, just as usefully, exposed the assumptions that would have sunk a full build later.
